About Us

At Plutos Pals, we put our love for pets and their owners into all that we do.

Why Pluto's Pals?

Pluto's Pals was born out of Ahmed's personal experience with his dog, Pluto, who struggled with behavior challenges that made it difficult for him to interact with people and other dogs. This led to a lonely and isolated life for Pluto. As Ahmed worked to help Pluto overcome his fear and anxiety, he discovered not just a need but a passion for specialized support for dogs facing similar challenges. With a mission to help these dogs build enriching lives with good companionship, Pluto's Pals was founded.

We are unique in that we don't just teach dogs to follow commands (although we do that too). We also focus on helping people become more educated about their pet's intrinsic needs. We work with you to create a customized environment and routine tailored to your lifestyle and living circumstances, so that your furry friend can thrive. As a result, both you and your dog end up living more fulfilling lives.

About Ahmed Monib

Ahmed Monib is a certified dog trainer (CPDT-KA), specializing in behavioral training. He became interested in animal behavior after rescuing his dog Pluto, a black Labrador that was hit by a car and left in the median of a highway. After a few months at home, Pluto started exhibiting signs of aggression, barking and lunging at people, dogs, trucks, and scariest of all, children. Seeking help, Ahmed took Pluto to Dr. Lore Haug, a top veterinary behaviorist in the country, and became fascinated with her explanations of animal behavior and her recommended reading materials. This experience inspired Ahmed to do an apprenticeship with Sheila Bertelsen, a renown behavioral trainer and the owner of Sit Stay Obey Academy, and eventually become a certified dog trainer himself. Ahmed partners with Dr. Haug and Dr. Gibson as a behaviorist coach for many of their clients who struggle with dog aggression and other behavioral issues. He also teaches basic obedience, volunteers with Guide Dogs for the Blind and at the Houston Animal Shelter (BARC), is a member of the International Association of Animal Behavioral Consultants (IAABC), and is currently learning agility training, gun-dog training, and protection training. Overall, he is committed to helping dogs and their owners overcome behavioral challenges and build a stronger bond through training.

Ahmed is a father of 3, holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and masters degree in Materials Science. In his free time, he enjoys running, camping and Sufi meditation.
